McGill's Own Student-Run Television Station
Equal parts video production company and educational resource, TVM was the only organisation on campus that gave students hands-on experience in producing videos.
In 2013, the year of TVM's rebrand, McGill students were voting on whether or not to renew the student-paid annual fee that was the source of TVM's funding.
The existing brand contained a mascot that was overly complex, inconsistent, and outdated.
How do we both maintain TVM's roots for students who already knew us, while clearly conveying TVM's purpose to students who hadn't heard of us before?
In exploring other visual motifs of the television icon that represented the old brand, we incorporated a TV antenna into the letters "TVM".
This meant that we could use a simplified version of the logo anywhere and it would be distinctive and indicative of TVM's role at McGill even at small sizes.
